Frank Anthony Romandetti was born on January 16th, 1981 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1987 he and his family moved to Ohio in order to be closer to family members already living in the state. Romandetti has been a lifelong resident of both Mahoning and Trumbull counties ever since and currently lives in the North side of Youngstown, Ohio.

When creating his works, whether it’s portraying scenes of dilapidated structures and ghostly figures reliving a lost life, or making pieces inspired by local folklore, Romandetti enjoys drawing inspiration directly from the rust belt community which surrounds him.

He is currently a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting at Youngstown State University, and his work has been in both public and private collections, with pieces being exhibited at various galleries in the Youngstown region. These sites include the Youngstown Business Incubator and the Systems Gallery, the Spotlight Gallery at the Oakland Center for the Arts, and the McDonough Museum. In 2012, he won the Crnjak/McCullough Award for Best Drawing at the 2012 Student Juried Art Gallery.

Presently, Romandetti is working on building miniature installations set into boxes in a diorama fashion. The themes behind his current work include his continuing interest in rustbelt communities, the passage of time, nature, and its uncanny ability to reclaim all things man-made.
