Words

by Kristie Gearhart

“Words Words Words”
Whatever.
Might as well call me Kafka,
Cause I ain’t no writer.
“K.K.K.K.K”
“Twenty lines of that shit and I went dry,
I got blocked. I felt like I was repeating myself.”
I’m just another fucking monkey with a keyboard.
Just a variable in the theorem.
None of the words I wrote before meant nothin.
And maybe when I’m done writing these pros,
The lights will fade,
And I can finally start writing Hamlet.
